Playground Update

It is with great excitement that after 2.5 years of hard work by the Playground Acquisition and Redevelopment Committee that we are nearing the finish line to our new playground.  We are told that construction could take 8 – 12 weeks depending on the weather.  As this puts us into December, we will wait until Spring/Early Summer to have our ‘formal’ Grand Opening.

On behalf the PARC team I would like to send out a big thank you to the Meadowlark Community League, Meadowlark School and the Meadowlark Parent Council and to our very generous neighbours who have all provided the financial support to get us to this point.  I would also like to send you a great big thank you to our Meadowlark Executive Board Members past and present, for their backing and support (especially our treasurer who we relied on to keep our funding safe!) A last big thank you to my fellow PARC committee members – whose passion and vision have created a pretty amazing playground that we will soon get to reveal to our community.

If you have any questions or safety concerns please call Kim from the Playground Acquisition and Redevelopment Committee - 780-850-8782.

Gentle Hatha Yoga for Adults:

10 week program runs from Wednesday April 4 to June 20 (no class on April 18 and 25)

Takes place on Wednesdays 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Meadowlark Community Hall (15961 92 Ave.)

All adults welcome!  We recognize that as we age our bodies change too.  This just means we need to approach our yoga practice from a deeper and wiser perspective.

Vera will guide you through some gentle asanas (postures) and will provide adjustments as needed.

Our yoga practice will focus on using our breath with gentle movement.

We will also use the roll model method balls to improve mobility, to restore and revitalize the body.

We will start the class with a gentle warm up connecting to our breath, then follow with some more active postures and also some rolling, finishing with a nice guided savasana at the end of class.

10 classes at $9 = $90.00 full session or $12 drop in

  • email April Kiely to register. City of Edmonton community league membership required.
